Christmas is almost here!

After years of being Christmas tree inept, I think I am starting to get into my groove. I love decorating for Christmas. It is getting out of control. I am sure there is a Christmas crazy decorator's anonymous out there somewhere. I probably need to go to some meetings. However, I am practicing control over the obsessive/compulsive behavior. I just went downstairs and saw the tree that is in the family room. Believe it or not, I am refraining from fixing. (Only because 30 seconds later it will look like this again. Gotta love 2 kids ages 2 and under around a Christmas tree!)
Anyone else have toddler Christmas horror stories? I haven't re-wrapped any of the gifts. I figure it is a lost cause. I don't remember it being this difficult the first time around!
I am excited for the holidays, the smells, the snow, the feelings that are projected when I am shopping. Okay, so not all the feelings. The kids are excited-even though we have been preparing them for a small material itemed Christmas-today's economy is not kind to home builders. It is helping our family focus on what Christmas is really for. I think I like it better.
We are staying home this year. We spent 15 years of our marriage going to either parents for Christmas eve and Christmas day. We love doing our own thing at home. I am sure we will be visit family before or after. Family, is after all, what it is all about.

Your tree is so pretty. I am laughing about the little fence! What a great idea.

If there is a group I'm sure I need to join it. Like my friend said "it looks like christmas threw up everywhere" I hope she meant that in a good way. I take down the normal decorations and put up christmas stuff, it really is a sickness. Our tree has looked that way for the last 7 years and will again next year. I am enjoying 1 year of it actually staying decorated albeit haphazardly, because I make them put the decorations back on now. We tried to call, I will try again later. Love ya!!

Your Tree turned out gorgeous! Would you believe my bag from Tipan is still in my car... When I decided I didn't have time to build a larger tree I knew they wouldn't work on the small one and I don't know how to store them yet.

I have been working on some quilts for some important reason! So... (I hope) quilts this year and a bigger, fancier tree next year?

Love you muchly, MOM
